MyDoctor 1390 ‘Suwasariya’ hotline – Free medical advice for all srilankan

All Sri Lankans now have the opportunity to receive free medical advice via MyDoctor 1390 hotline. This advice is provided by qualified doctors (registered by the Sri Lanka Medical Council). Depending on the nature of the person’s risk, doctors will contact them and inform the Epidemiology Unit of the appropriate District Hospital to take appropriate action in case of high risk individuals.

The specialty of this service is that the public can dial an ambulance to their home via the ‘Suwasariya’ service by dialing 1390 hotline without having to visit a hospital or medical center. Dialog, Ministry of Health and Wavenet have implemented this national level service through any network.

According to the Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, if a person has symptoms such as fever, cough, common cold or sore throat, he should call 1390 before going to the hospital and check the symptoms. Get all the information like this. He added that this would help reduce the risk of contracting the disease to others by simultaneously admitting people with symptoms.

The MyDoctor mobile app provides free medical advice through video technology through MyDoctor Mobile App. Dialog is already in the process of making video calls to the MyDoctor mobile app at no charge. This is the most efficient way of screening patients in the face of current conditions, and it also helps doctors to make a proper assessment of the condition.

These days, many are embarrassed by the inability to bring medicines to their home. MyDoctor Mobile App has launched a special drug delivery service in the Western Province covering Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha and Negombo. If a person needs medicine, he / she can take a photo of the prescription and send it to the nearest pharmacy through the app. It will be distributed within 48 hours to any part of the Western Province. If a person does not have a valid prescription to purchase drugs, he or she can contact the doctor for free through the app. The doctor will direct the prescription to the person’s app directly.

Steps have also been taken to empower the nation’s children by providing them free access to websites such as Guru.lk, as well as empowering Dialog nationwide to facilitate free access to health services.
